Exhibition text from the official catalogue: IUBILAEUM 2025, Rome.
"The blessing explores the boundary between spirituality and pictorial gesture, evoking an angelic figure suspended over an abstract and layered landscape. The angel’s face is hieratic and closed; the gaze turned downward calls for recollection, compassion.
The wings, white and pink, do not seem naturalistic, but suggested, as if they vibrated between spirituality and the pictorial gesture. The composition is based on visual and symbolic contrasts: the monumentality of the central figure contrasts with the small architecture below, suggesting a relationship between the human and the divine.
Wlodarczak does not offer answers, but inner ideas; the angel, hieratic and absorbed, does not appear as a celestial creature, but as an emanation of the earth itself, a blessing that arises from pain, memory and the artist’s gesture."
